So, I was diagnosed as pre-diabetic in my teens. I am now almost 40. Several years ago I began taking a medication which pushes a lot of people into diabetes, even if they are not predisposed. I must take this medication to stay alive and to be functional. I have a family history of both Type I and Type II. It seemed like getting diabetes would be inevitable for me.

However, I saw my neuroendocrioogist on Friday, and my fasting glucose is 80...a full 20 points below the pre-diabetes range of 100-120. Diabetes is greater than 120.

I am in a long plateau right now in terms of weight loss, but apparently the diet and exercise are still doing very good things for my health. Woo-hoo!
