Hi. I'm back too! Seriously, the pounds have to go, for my health and my own self-caring. I'm 65, newly retired (YAYAYAY) and have some budding health issues so it's time to nip this in the bud and get healthy again. My 1st goal is 20 lbs. Then have to go for another 10-20. I use the food tracker faithfully; it helps me understand what I'm eating, when and portion sizes. I already see my downfall is nighttime. If I don't have a real meal prepared, I snack. Even healthy snacks add up, plus I don't have that satisfying feeling of fullness.
So, let's do this for once and for all!

Welcome to Spark. You have taken the first step on your journey by joining! I've been a member a little more than two years. I made fantastic progress and lost 100 pounds in the first year BUT I became careless about nutrition and exercise and have gained 30 back! I became disgusted with myself and closed my Spark account, but soon realized I NEEDED to be here. I'm back using the nutrition and exercise trackers now - they are so important. The sense of community and the friendships I have made here keep me going! Explore the site, make your Sparkpage, join teams, and make friends. You will find this site an amazing place full of encouragement, inspiration, advice, and support. Please let me know if there is anything I can help you with. Good luck! Sheila

Welcome to Spark People, hopefully the last "diet" program you will ever need! If you read my intro on my Spark Page you'll see I came in with similar issues - though I had a lot of success losing a lot of weight but also gained it back several times. So I was loaded with shame and discouragement. However, SP is NOT a diet program, which I think is what's doing it for me. They emphasize lifestyle change for the long run. What I know I need is the-rest-of-my-life change! The tools here, the articles, the trackers, the "baby steps" approach have all helped me get past the discouragement and into genuine committment to my own health and fitness. I started off reading The Spark, then joined. The book was very helpful, especially re: exercise (a four-letter-word as far as I was concerned). Now I exercise 20-35 minutes a day and have lost 41.5 pounds since last August. Oh, and more importantly I FEEL so much better! Give it a try. Feel free to check my Page or Spark mail me any time.

Hi everyone! I am so hoping that this site will help me finally stay on track and motivated. I need to lose 40 pounds to be happy and healthy! I know it but I just can't seem to get there. I am sick of starting new diet plans each January or February just to get to the next January or February to realize I was ..yet again ...unsuccessful. I am about to turn 46 and I so hope I can make it through this weight loss journey in the next year:)
I am more than happy to be support for others so I am hoping I find a few others who could support me and are in it for the long haul....it will take me a year I figure....damn summer months:)
