Do you happen to own a Taylor digital scale? I bought one a few years ago and it has its moments where it wants to work and when it does, I do check myself three times, since the first one is off. I just bought one of their $30 glass scales last week and the first time I was on it, I had lost 2 pounds (at least it said I did); sometimes I weigh 8 pounds less, sometimes 2 pounds more. I've been trying to find a decent place in the house for it and each time it is different. Our floors aren't totally flat in most of the house so it can be hard to get a decent reading.

I totally agree-it is frustrating! It might be better to stick with the gym scale and if your husband does move it, then if you move it back to where it was it should give you the same reading that it would have if he hadn't moved it. At least that seems to work in my experience. I was liking our new scale that first day but now, not so much. I'm not expecting it to go down every day, but it could at least give me a consistent reading each time I get on it (I do that one 2 times if the first and second reading match; 3 if it doesn't). If I don't get on every day, then I get a false sense of security and binge for months.

I always weight myself on my weigh in days at the same time and wearing the exact same outfit. I even put the scale in the same place in the bathroom, that way there is no way it would be inaccurate. I just stick to one scale. When I go to the doctors it is always different than what my home scale says. But then again every scale is different. Good for you for finding what works for you! I wish I was down 16 pounds in a month too, but hey at least you are making the right decisions about a healthier life!

Don't be discouraged! 2 pounds a week is very healthy for weightloss. Two pounds takes a lot of work!

So I spent 2 hrs. at the gym today and weighed just what my scales now say so I feel very comfortable I am seeing the true #'s although I wish it'd been the 16 lbs. down in 3 weeks instead of 6lbs. I'm ok knowing I will not give up and no more set backs!!!! KEEBLER CRACKERS NOW IN TRASH (they are not my friend)!!!LOL!!!
Now just gotta try to make balanced plates no matter if I'm hungry for it or not!!!!

Allie,

Weight is just a number and trust me, it can and will fluctuate from day to day, even through the course of the day due to our hydration, diet (high sodium, high fiber), workouts, even hormones. This is why using other means for measuring your progress is soooo important. The scales are just devices, but know that your body is undergoing some amazing transformations!

Be strong!

Can you just use the gym scale? It probably would be more accurate than your scale. It is very frustrating to see that number move like that!

Ok so I was really super proud of myself first 3 wks. as my scale was within 2#'s of doctor scales when I started...The scale went down 11 first week,4 the next and 1 the third week!!! Then my husband whose never had an overweight moment in his life and who can eat literally 8,000 cals. a day and not gain an ounce.Anyway he announces "I think your scales are off!!!".So I ck. my weight as I had just weighed and sure enough every time we moved the scale it said something different.I was going to the gym the next morning so I thought I'll weigh at the gym and see what it says.Soooo I weighed at the gym and it was 5# heavier than my scale weight, being discouraged I got new battery for my scale as it's only 2 yrs. old and it said the same thing the gym did until I moved it to another area of my bathroom floor it was 5#'s lighter again...Now really confused dumb me I stopped tracking the rest of the week and knew I was eating the wrong stuff lots of keebler club crackers and cheese over the weekend and guess what the scale shows another 5# gain this morning!!!! SO IT LOOKS LIKE I'VE LOST A TOTAL OF 6#'S INSTEAD OF 16 SINCE I STARTED THIS IS WEEK 4!!!
Not sure what to do accept I am tracking now...

Any Ideas???? My daughter said just stick with one scale and since mine and the gym match to leave it right where it is and dare my husband to move it...FRUSTRATING IS ALL I'M SAYIN!!
