Today was the first time in months that I did any exercise (partly because of laziness and partly because of having surgery). I find it hard to admit how out of shape I've become. Oh well... at least I'm heading in the right direction!

Hi I am new to spark and would like to join this challenge to if I am not to late.

Here are my stats from yesterday:

Number of minutes of workout: 23 minutes (walk/run) on treadmill, 25 minutes elliptical
Glasses of water: 4, not good at drinking water
Motivation: to fit into my dress jacket by the end of Jan
Delight: having my husband come to the gym with me.

4. motivation: To be more healthy for myself and my family. Goal weight for the end of January = 170 lbs. (starting weight 175.8). To keep up my running by doing it at least 1 to 2x per week and to keep increasing my distance.
5. delight: a person that I didn't know, but had seen around at the gym, came up to me today and complimented me on my progress. That really made my morning! I'm also going to try to pass it along/pay it forward and compliment someone else sometime this week.

**last month I did this challenge and wasn't as succesful in tracking but I went from around 139 to 136.6! very exciting! This month will be a lot healthier and easier because I don't have so many parties and no holidays! I'm extra nervous to see how much damange I put on over the new years weekend (lots of margaritas!) I'm in! Excited to see some familiar faces and new ones too! While December wasn't as successful for me as it could have been with regards to weight loss, I know how much being part of this challenge helped keep me on track (or not as far off track!)...I know I would never have tracked my calories or worried about exercise over the holidays if I wasn't committed to posting here. So, glad you are all here!

I'm in and I hope I can offer more encouragement this month than I did last month. December was rough on me! But I'm here again, ready for the new year! one of my goals is to get back to ballet classes this year. I'm aiming for 50 classes this year, which is roughly one a week. Seems easy enough, but I'll have to take more than one a week some weeks to make up for the crazy weeks, vacations, etc. Wish me luck!

The plan is simple. Each day we post:
