Iheartmy family, I'm going to ask my OBGYN about the novasure procedure. I am a heavy bleeder and have had my tubes tied since 2009 after my third son was born.

After years of suffering from long, heavy, periods, I mostly got rid of TOM. I take birth control pills daily for 3 months and then stop for a week. Only have to deal with about 3 days of spotting every 3 months. This has been one of the best things I've ever done for myself or that a doctor has ever suggested for me. TOM...an unpleasant, mostly unnecessary, inconvenience to be avoided as much as possible, in my opinion.

I allow myself to rest for the first couple of days, as aunt flo is usually draining all my energy. I'm not in the routine of depriving myself of anything..if I do, I end up overdoing it. So I indulge a little. But you'd be surprised, after a while, you don't even want the junk food, as you know it will be hell to pay to work them off. I make sure that after day 3, I'm at least walking on the treadmill.

Absolutely nothing worked for me at all. I suffered from cramps three days in a row. I started to not be able to take the pain the older I got. Vicodin wouldn't kill those damn cramps. I am 45 now but 3 years ago I had the procedure called Novasure. I was starting to bleed heavy so I went to doc and told her about it all. My doc referred me to a OBGYN, I then talked to her but already knew what I wanted after researching online and asking womens opinion of it on here. The OBGYN was going to give me two options, first was a mild birth control pill for ladies of my age, but then I said I have been researching about a procedure called Novasure, she smiled and said that was going to be the second option I was going to talk to you about. She told me she is happy I have read up on it and the choice is mine, and she described what will be happening and had to get insurance company approval. I went with Novasure and have no regrets at all. No more periods. I am extremely happy about Novasure because seriously I think I would have over dosed. Three days of bad pain along with bloating, feeling hungry and everything else that goes with period would have taken me to the grave. I am talking three days of moaning and groaning pain in and out of hot bath tubs, water bottles in three places on my body, and still after those three days having flow for another two or three days. My flow got real crazy that is why I was a candidate for Novasure. I tell my daughters and friends that when they reach past child bearing age for them and if they have bad periods lie to the doc about heavy flows and get the procedure done, no need to suffer with something as a period when you are done having babies. I would get cramps in my back, abdominal area and my right leg. LIfe is good now. Novasure shouldn't have to be approved by insurance it should be an option for any women who is done having babies.
