Ditto on the consulting with your doc and maybe a trainer who can provide you with some modified exercises.

Work with a physical therapist who will give you a program to follow on your own.

I appreciate the concern and advice. My doctor simply told me no strain on neck of head. Otherwise, I can exercise. It's not much to go on, I know. I'll go see my occupational physical therapist. Thank you!!!!!!! emoticon

Dragonchilde is right. The best person to offer exercise advice would be your doctor or physical therapist.

Good luck!

Under no circumstances should you take advice from us here on fitness; you need to contact your doctor for a referral to a physical therapist who can design a program for you based on your individual needs that will prevent injury. We can't give you a proper exam, and with those kinds of instructions, you do NOT want to take chances!

Hello,
Early this year, my doctor found a mass in my throat and through months of testing, found it to be an ossified growth plate on my spine. It's a one in a million and I have to keep it because the risk of surgery is too great. I feel pretty good but my neck often hurts and the doctor was warned me not to apply any pressure to my head or neck area. I didn't realize just how much I did things that did apply pressure to both! Does anyone have any suggestions of exercises that would benefit my upper body and core without neck or head strain? emoticon
