There is some misinformation on this thread that needs to be corrected.

Sugar alcohols do not build up as toxins in one's body.

This SP article will give more info on sugar alcohols.

Yes, you can use a product that contains sugar alcohols and still lose weight. Weight loss is based on consuming fewer calories daily; than the calories you burn daily. You need to be in a calorie deficit.

Pattiswimmer - prove it. Provide scientific, peer reviewed research that proves what you just said.

And I agree - it's the calories that is how you lose. Nutritional content is important for overall body health, but in the end calories rule.

the sugar alcohol will just build up as toxins in your body.... won't effect you immediately but later will cause you to stay on a plateau of non weight loss

Weight loss is about the nutrients or lack of nutrients in your foods.

Weight loss is about the amount of calories you eat, not the individual nutrients in your foods.

Can you still lose weight while eating the Atkins products with sugar alcohol in them? I have heard it both ways and I do not want to do damage to the hard work I have put in this week. Day 6, down 4 lbs. Love low-carb!
