This reminded me not to get too complacent in my workouts. I need to periodically step back and look for ways to bump up the activity to a higher level. Thanks!

Today, I am supposed to do the 1.5 mile. However, my schedule has gotten mixed because I have had to be away from home. I may need to switch up and wait do it tomorrow.
Everything else has been changed a bit. I really don't like to make routine changes, but life doesn't work around me I need to learn to adapt more. Another reason this challenge is good for me.

After a year of ups and downs with health issues, I decided to try to 5K walk again. I completed a 21 minute mile without undue difficulty. emoticon

Thanks for celebrating with me and encouraging me to keep going! And great tip about the music.. I get too "in my head" without it so I use Pandora on my phone. I'm gonna see if they have any running stations that I can add.

That's awesome, if you use music to run, use a playlist with a faster tempo and you will cut time. I changed my music and went from 11:12 to a 10:27 minute 3 mile run! I couldn't believe it!

That's amazing! To be that much faster even with the stopping - can't wait to see how well you do next time!

Congrats on the great achievement!

I was fiddling with my Endomondo on 8/24 and saw that my fastest 5k of 37:54 was completed in March 2011, when I weighed 23 pounds heavier. I set a goal that in 30 days I would beat that time.

Yesterday I set out for my run, not intending it to be "THE" run, but I challenged myself to run until my phone told me it was 3 miles. I started the clock and began to warm up, and then started a jog. Had my dog with me and she of course had to stop and do her business a few times. Somehow, even with the walking warmup and the dog I ended up with my personal best 5k of 35:00!

Now I'm going to run again tomorrow without the dog and see if I can beat it!
