I am a parent who's experienced a lot of stress/anxiety for about 6-7 years now. The last two I'd say I've experienced chronic stress. I joined the Official Stress Busting Challenge Team.
I wanted to share with stressed parents something that has helped me. I think most of us feel overwhelmed in our life & have a lot of worries,in whatever form they may appear.
One difficulty I know I've had is at bedtime stopping the repeating of negative thoughts, things I can't control, negative talk that repeats in our minds , like a skipping record.
Spark People has an article called,"An Exercise In Proper Breathing" that really seems to relax my mind & body & get me ready for rest at night. So I wanted to share it with others that may have this problem & haven't tried it. I like to put on a soothing water sound or relaxing tape softly in the background.
