www.drfitt.com Check with Roby Mitchell, M.D./PhD on losing weight with Metabolic Syndrome/Insulin Resistance. He treats patients for hormone deficiency.

Scott Rigden, M.D. www.drscottrigden.com/ has a lot of information. His book is very helpful.

Dr. Atkins wrote a lot on Metabolic Syndrome and you can find it in his book "The NEW Diet Revolution" which is at the library.

This morning I read a message regarding syndrome x / metabolic syndrome, stating that their doctor told them that they would not or could not lose weight.

I then looked up other articles about syndrome x that equated the syndrome with pre-diabetes which I have all the symptoms of, yet have not been diagnosed with, however; since my initial weight losses in January and early February of this year my weight has not change but has fluctuated up and down within the same 2-3 pounds.
I have now reset my nutritional info. to, pre-diabetic status in hopes of making more consistant progress.

With all that said; I wondered if Sparkpeople could provide information showing the actual numbers of pre-diabetics weight loss over time for comparison to non pre-diabetic or insulin resistant members. I feel it would be beneficial and more encouraging to know what rate of weight loss I could expect based on those numbers, rather than wondering if I would ever lose. Is this information already available or can it be made available? Thanks for your thoughts!!! emoticon
