Thank you so much for the encouragement. You certainly all picked up on my perfectionisit tendencies! It was good to be reminded that this is a slow process. I had a better day today, and I'm going to take your advice and track accurately, try hard, eat more fruit etc. I really appreciate all your support- it has made a difference to me today!
This seems a good time to do the reverse of your tendency. Agree with yourself to for two weeks, make an extra effort to stay on track, to eat 'perfectly' according to plan, and do a bit more exercise. In other words use counter-behaviors. You will probably start losing weight again and feel better and more motivated to continue.

Don't give up. Gee how many times have people said that to me and guess what I did give up and now I'm even farther behind...but I'm doing it this time. I'm not sure why this time is different but it just feels like the right time.
If you mess up a little don't beat yourself up over it because they you wil give up - just get back on the wagon and move forward. I find if I try to work harder to make up for my "mistake" it back fires on me because then I get angry - at the world and myself. Now I don't live with regret - I just look forward and truly take one day at a time.
Do I get discouraged - of course but I just try to remind myself of my goals and if that doesn't work I take the day off from "dieting". What I usually find is when I take the pressure off myself I don't do as bad and I think I will.
Hope this helps a little - just know you aren't alone.

I seem to be at the same place, and I've been here before. When I start to slip, and find myself returning to old not-so-healthy habits, I double up my efforts to be accountable ... record everything (even if it is not a pretty picture.) Look at your SparkSummary Calendar (on your Start page) to see the progress you've made. Put the scale away, except for maybe once a week. I have found it discourages me when I don't see a loss, even if I've lost 4 pounds the week before! (Which seems to be the way my body works ... hold it, hold it, hold it, let it go:) ) Be nice to yourself, in the same way you'd be nice to your best friend. Plan ahead for success --- when I learn that one, I feel like I'll be "on-track" much more often!
You really have made great progress! Just focus on the lifestyle, not perfection, not the weight. You'll get over this bump and be on your way again. Just hang in there and do what has brought you success before!

Congrats on your success so far. Just remember most of us have lived with poor habits for a long time so we have to have patience as we continue on this journey to changing the way we live. Don't look back, except to understand the why we do, what we do, when we do it. When we unlock the doors as to why we do the things we do, then we can develop a plan how to change the way we live.
Weight loss is just one small aspect on this journey. Building the life-long healthy habits that you will carry with you for the rest of your life will keep you off the diet roller coaster so you never have to repeat the process. You just carry on where you left off.
SparkPeople give you a range of calories so if you are having issues, you may want to eat at the upper end of your range or you may want to extend your time frame to meet your goal weight so that your calorie range will increase.

While a safe weekly weight loss would be 1-2 pounds per week, there may be weeks you don't lose. there may even be weeks you gain ! And that doesn't mean you're doing something wrong. This isn't the Biggest Loser. Those types of weekly dramatic losses are just not typical.
Most people don't realize that weight loss really is a slow steady process that takes time. You didn't gain the weight overnight. it's not coming off overnight. Remember, you're trying to change habits learned over a life time. That's not going to happen overnight, a week, a month or even a year. Change takes time. thus the need to be patient with yourself and your body.
Also, perhaps your weight loss goal is too aggressive. if you have your loss set to two pounds per week. why not set it to a one pound loss ? That would increase your calorie range. Eating a bit more each week would seem like "drastic". As you lose weight, your body is going to need fewer calories to function. However, right now, you probably do need those extra calories while your body adjusts to the change.
For now, eat at the level you feel comfortable so that you don't feel deprived. eat a couple extra servings of fresh fruit and veggies. Have nuts for a snack. there are plenty of healthy ways to increase the amount of food you eat to ensure that you feel sated.

I've lost about eleven pounds in a couple of months, which I know is really good, but my weight loss has slowed in the last few weeks which I've found a bit discouraging, and I've started to slip back into bad old habits (like snacking on a bit of the kids' tea while I wait for mine to cook- how can I stop doing this?). Of course, this means the weight loss is even slower. Plus, SP has recalculated my calorie range and it's approx 100 calories lower. As I've struggled to stay within my calorie range this week, I'm really worried I won't be able to stick to the new range. Just feeling a bit down about it- I was doing so well! Any advice or support welcome! Thanks!
