So I'm a little dejected today. This week has been almost a total loss. My calories got to shot to hell, and I didn't get any fitness in until last night. I did get up to go work out this morning, but I couldn't push myself during my workouts, so I still feel like I was slacking. Going to take my niece to swimming tonight, so that's at least something to keep my mind on the up side. Gotta keep fighting.

So I'm a little disappointed in myself. Yesterday was my birthday, and I went overboard with the food. Too much meat, too much sweets, just too much everything. Plus I haven't gotten into the gym all week. I'm going to have to buckle down after my bender. I've got a little bit of a reprieve now from temptation inducing events. I think Thanksgiving is the next one. So I'm going to try to stay on the straight and narrow until then. Wish me luck.

Man, the weekends are always difficult to stay on track. It's always busy and hard to keep focused. Saturday I was good, but Sunday I ate out twice, once for lunch after church, where I had a turkey club and fries, and my buddy and I ordered pizzas during the Sunday night football game, which I ate a few too many pieces of. At least it was only half a pizza and not a whole pizza like I used to do. Maybe one of these days I'll be able to just eat two slices, but man I love pizza. Not much else to report.

Definitely been nice starting the process. With just some hard work things are getting better. Gonna be tough when I hit the plateau though. I am not looking forward to that especially when I am busting my butt and not seeing results but right now the pounds are falling off with little effort. I gotta make sure I keep that effort up though!

Keep up the good work! Your run time inspires me. I'm just getting back into exercise.

That's part of the problem with McDonald's, it's way too convenient.

I got up to workout this morning, so I'm pretty happy about that. I got 2 miles in 20 minutes again, but I can't seem to break the 20 minute mark for running. About 15 minutes in I start feeling the pain, and I push through to the 20 minute mark but then I've got to slow it down for the last 10 minutes.

Did my weekly weigh in when I woke up. Very happy with my progress so far. 280.8. Knocked off about 4 pounds in 2 weeks. We'll see if I can keep up with it, but I'm pretty hopeful so far, there's a definite change since I decided to go after it this time and SparkPeople certainly seems to help keep me focused. The journal thing is helping too.

On a bit of a personal note, swimming with my niece went great last night. She's going really short distances without any help, and swam the entire pool with only the help of the bubble belt.

So I made the choice today to indulge myself today. I was running a little late this morning and decided to run through McDonald's. Normally I'd get the oatmeal, today I decided to go for the breakfast burrito. It was a calculated decision, not an impulse, so I'm not fretting over it thankfully.

I did bike again while watching TV last night. I'm thinking that it may become a habit, which would be cool. I'm thinking about adding a few other exercises to the routine, maybe pushups or something.

Get to do swimming with my niece again today. I'm really looking forward to it.

The distraction seems to help me out. Last night went great, until about the last 10 minutes. Then things started feeling long.

Good for you re: the bike. Do you find watching tv makes it go easier? Where I used to live I had a bike to use, and suddenly my tv show felt SO LONG!!!!

Pretty happy today with my progress.

I finally got the stationary bike in last night. I even used it while watching TV. I was good with my food intake, but I've got to be better about writing it down.

Got back onto track with my workouts this morning. Man it's hard getting up that early sometimes, but the day always seems better after a good workout in the morning.

Other than that, not much to report, trying to keep on track.

I got absolutely nothing done over the weekend. I wasn't feeling well, and I had absolutely no motivation to do much.

Friday night I was at a wedding reception, and I'm pretty proud of myself. I got out on the dance floor and made a fool of myself and loved it. I made healthy choices at the buffet, and didn't go up for a second plate. I overindulged in alcohol, but it was a significant improvement over what I would have done in ages past. I even managed to avoid going to get fast food after like I used to do. So overall I'm pretty happy with my performance at an event where I used to have a significant problem at.

Saturday, Sunday, and Monday were all lost. I slept in big time on Saturday because of the wedding, and lost a lot of the day. Then Sunday I woke up feeling under the weather and that carried over to Monday, which I called in to work for. It wasn't until early afternoon yesterday I was feeling up to much. At the very least I kept my food intake in check over the weekend because of it, but I would still have liked to have done more. I also need to work on keeping a better track of food over the weekends.

I took my niece swimming last night. It's great fun, and she's starting to get the hang of things. Not quite swimming on her own yet, but getting there. And it's an excuse to get moving around in the pool. I'm still not 100% comfortable in my swim trunks, but I've ditched wearing a shirt while in the pool. Hopefully I'll be able to go swimming one day without being self conscious about my body.

Today is going to be a tough one. I worked my schedule to have a rest day this morning because I have a wedding to go to tonight and didn't feel like being sore and tired, so I didn't work out and slept in.

There are going to be many temptations to watch out for. I get to be DD so at least that's one vice I can't indulge in.

I did my official weigh in this morning, right after waking up, clothed only in underwear, before eating. I came in at 283.6. Pretty happy with that loss. Tomorrow or Sunday I'm planning to get some body measurements to get a starting point. I wish I had done that way back when I started, it'd be pretty interesting to see the difference. I know I've dropped about 10 inches off my waist, since I had to buy new pants. The best part about the weight loss is I can actually go into a regular department store and find clothes now. Admittedly on the high end, but it's something I haven't been able to do much in my life.

Just a minor update. Didn't get my stationary bike in like I wanted again. Looks like it'll be the weekend before that happens. I did get up and go to the gym again, and did a good run. 2 miles in 20 minutes. I'm going to have to think about signing up for a 5k sometime soon. I also did some ab work on the circuit.

Went out to dinner last night with my mom and got fruit as a side instead of fries. Now I just need to avoid the ice cream I had for dessert, although I'm pretty sure I'm in my calorie range. It's really hard to judge sit down restaurant calories.

I'm posting now, so so far so good.

Alright, so I didn't get the stationary bike pulled out of storage yesterday like I wanted to. I had a meeting after work, and then stopped in to visit my niece, so things got a little away from me. Hopefully tonight it'll be out. I kept under my calories for the day, so I'm pretty happy.

I did get up early to go to the gym. It's certainly been getting easier and easier to get myself out of bed in the morning. I pushed it on the treadmill today, not the fastest I've gone, but the fastest I've gone for as long as I did. Did some strength training on the machines as well.

I did weigh in after my workout, and I'm pretty happy with 280.0 I plan to do a weigh in Friday before eating and working out, so it should be as close to an official weight as possible.

I've done a great job in my weight loss so far, I'm very proud to say I'm down 115 pounds. I hit the wall on my weight loss for the past couple months, and I'm happy to say I didn't gain any of the weight back. I still need to lose more weight, my goal is another 85 pounds by my 32nd birthday. Which would put me down to a weight I haven't been since about 4th or 5th grade probably. Certainly before high school, since I'm currently at my weight from freshman year of high school. So my search led me to this site, and I've done some sifting through the information, and one of the concepts is writing in a journal and making my process public. I'll probably throw some personal thoughts out here as well. So here are my goals to start....

I'm going to try to write here at least once a day.
I'm going to drink more water.
I'm going to work out at least 4 times a week for at least 30 minutes.
I'm going to watch my calorie intake and be more conscious of portion size.
I'm going to weigh myself once a week on Fridays.

Any comments or advice is appreciated. Also encouragement and chiding as I post my successes and failures.

Thank you all for your time.
