Welcome! I too have just started and have found that focusing on the daily actions (on a smaller scale) help keep me focused and give me something to believe in (besides that darn number on the scale)! Celebrate each day and all your victories. Congrats!

I have been a member of spark people for a while, but this is the first time I have truly been using the program. I had lost about 8 pounds and was doing really well but then I lost my job a few weeks ago and because of emotional eating and not caring what I ate I gained back 6 pounds. I hope I can get back on track with spark people

Hello and Welcome! Thanks for sharing about yourself. You will find a wonderful, supportive community here. Members are really helpful. Just take it one day/ one step at a time. Just keep tracking your food, exercise, and drinking water. One of the best ways to stay accountable and motivated is to be active on your Spark Teams.

Motivation is the hardest thing for me. I had my Son in Jan. 2010 & vowed to lose the weight. I did well losing a total of 30-40Ibs w/ Diet Pills (adipex). I soon realized that the diet pills are just a temporary fix. I gradually started to gain the weight back over a year & here I am...Starting over! It is a little depressing, but I'm feeling more determined than ever. My 3 yr old recently told me my butt is really big. Ugh.. The honesty of children. Although I hated hearing him tell me such a thing... He was being honest. I think this is when I realized that it was time for some serious changes. I've been fighting w/ my weight, self esteem & energy level for a while now. I also have a condition call PCOS (Polycystic Ovary Syndrome). Having this puts me at a higher risk for diabetes & obesity. I just want to be healtier for myself & my Family. I want to gain more self-esteem & energy. Today is the second day of counting calories, exercising & eating healthier. I feel much more motivated today than yesterday. Yesterday I failed to stay under my calories & didn't drink enough water. I'm going to do my very best to make today better. I love having the support needed in the Spark community. Hopefully I can do it this time. Actually meet my ultimate goal of losing 65 Ibs.
