First off warmest welcome to Spark People. I too suffer from sleep ap. I've had the machine now for a year, however it's collecting dusk unfortunately. I just couldn't get used to it even using the "pillows mask". The doctor explained to me that losing weight would help and I was determined to change my life. My kids were asking why I had to use that machine, I also didn't feel confident w/ hubby lying next to me w/ this contraption on my face. But he is my support and we must have support.
It's going to be a hard journey but if you stay committed even when you fall off get right back on. Log log log, log everything as if you were writing a book about yourself. Food prep is a big key. Search this site for recipes and plan meals for the week...Tupperware or brown bagging works. It's about 80-90% what you intake and the rest is activity. Try something new whether it be food or activity. In order for your body to change you have to change your mind. I can go on & on about what helped me loose 56lbs, you have to play around w/ what works for your body. Listen if you need an accountability partner let me know. I want to start off a new lifestyle, and start out fresh and new! Last year I was on Weight Watchers, and lost around 30lbs. Months later due to stress I lost motivation, and ended up gaining all the pounds back, and then some. I also want to solve my little sleep apnea, and insomnia problem. So! I'm back on the band-wagon again, to finally kill this dragon once and for all! I'm looking forward to meeting you all by the way!
