The tracker app only works on Android OS version 1.6 and above. If her phone is an Android with OS 1.5 or lower it will not be compatible. There have been updates to the OS released since 1.5 and so we're trying to balance using the new features in the OS with allowing the most people to download and use the app. If the application doesn't work on her phone, we recommend trying our updated mobile site at mobile.sparkpeople.com . She can also try going directly to the Amazon AppStore link to see if that helps:

Suggestions for future updates to the Droid app:

Saved Recipes allowed to be searched for.

Saved walk/run maps able to add to fitness.

Fruit & veggie counter (like the water one)

A way to spin the wheel...even if it's just a button that gives you a number. Sometimes it's a pain to have to go to the mobile site just to spin the wheel (to prove I've logged in) when I've been tracking by the app. Must keep streak alive!

Of course it would be wonderful to be able to get to the teams and blogs/friend feed. But I can go to the mobile site if I must. The others are much more important.

I'm not sure that there would be an app for that device, but I'll pass along your feedback.

Love the Spark book. It's all the idea on the site in a easy to read manual. Plus it's a great story to how it all started. Very inspiring!

I just got a droid and was excited about the sparkpeople app but being able to use the barcode scanner for fat secret's app makes it so much easier. I get frustrated digging through all the various incarnations of different Lean Cuisine meals to find the one that has the same calories and size as the one I had for dinner.

I'd also love easier access to the community features. My team misses me when I'm off work for two days and don't have access.

It would be nice to be able to OPTIONALLY post fitness to Facebook from the app, Another nice addition would be a quick water tracker and fruit/veggie tracker. I don't use those functions, but I know a lot of people do. Tracking other things besides just weight would be cool too.

Of course you guys could just do a HTML5 mobile page and make it cross platform for unification.

I just got a droid and logged into Sparks.I did notice other sites that had the bar code option and it is awesome.I agree that would be perfect for the Sparks Apps with their database to go with it and to add favorites fast and easier.

It would be great if there were a bar code reader app that would just add known foods to your tracking. I don't know if the is the place to make those types of suggestion, but I it would be great to have. People could add items they scan to the database if they do not already exist.

You aren't able to do that on the app, but you can use our mobile site to spin the wheel: mobile.sparkpeople.com/ .

I loaded the app on my droid x. I most want to keep my log in streak going when I'm away but I couldn't find it. Is it something I can do when I log in on the app and do not get to my computer. Just logging into the site does not give you credit for logging in. You have to spin the wheel.

PERFECT!!! thank you so much that was the step I was missing :)

You will need to login in the app under your spark account at account creation in order for those accounts to be synced. If you did not do so at creation of your android app account, you will need to uninstall the application and install it again and be sure to login under your spark account so your accounts will be synced.

I hope this helps!

I used to have my current account synced up with my Droid2 but I had to get a new one now I cannot sync them, it keeps wanting me to start a new account...any idea where I am going wrong?

Seconded - I would even pay for a Droid app. I am on the road from time to time, and this would make tracking on the go much, much easier.

I know that the iPhone has an app, and that there has been a request for a BlackBerry app, so I wanted to put a request out there for an app for the Droid!
