I am so very excited that SparkPeople came out with this! I use my GPS tracker on my SP app when I am walking and hiking for the time being. I just ordered my SAT today, and cannot wait until it comes in (anywhere from the 4th-7th!!) I hope it's here by Friday, so I can use it Saturday, when I go on my weekly walk/hike in the Flint Hills!!!!
It will count activity in the pool, but the results might not be as accurate as you're hoping for.
Sorry I don't have a better answer for you!

I saw in the product FAQ that it is water proof but doesn't track swimming. I am guessing because it isn't programmed to track the strokes in the same was as say the Poolmate (an accelerometer watch that only tracks something like 5 swimming strokes). I have long been interested in a pedometer/device that can track "steps" or movement in the water such as in a shallow water aerobics class or water jogging. Does anyone know how well the Spark works for this? I realize the movement pattern in water will be different than on land though.

Ok thanks for explaining. It would be great if they could start up Sparkpeople shop in other countries.
