I agree that you should do some sort of cardio to help stretch out your muscles. You don't have to go all out - a walk or swim would be great. Active recovery can really help speed up the process!

Thanks to all that replied. I just got in my hot tub. I don't know why I hadn't thought of that. Tomorrow I will start back on my bike slowly.

When my pain becomes unbearable I take a bath in epsom salts. I also use arnaca gel, which is an all natural pain reliever. I do continue to work out unless I can't walk. I have found that the pain subsides after my body has warmed up. Of course, it comes back after the workout is over. Just listen to your body and make sure you are allowing it to recover.

An 'active recovery' is the best approach to sore muscles. The increased blood flow to the muscles actually helps the recovery process.

But back off the intensity a bit until the are recovered. Something like walking, or low resistance on the exercise bike would be ideal. Also, make sure you include plenty of stretching.

I would walk, at least. You might find that some activity will actually improve the soreness and get that blood flow to your legs to speed healing.

Try a hot bath and stretching, it'll soothe the muscles. If after 2 days of rest Im still sore, i just walk. It does end up feeling better. I dont know if it's "recommended", but that's what I do..

I have been frustrated because I haven't lost weight in two weeks so I decided to bump up my exercise a little. I usually ride my exercise bike for 30 minutes and I moved it to 45.

I may have been OK doing that but then my husband needed my help in his business and I ended up working on my feet for 6.5 hours and having a vac pack vacuum cleaner on my back for at least four of the hours.

Now for my problem. My leg muscles are very sore. I haven't worked out at all for two days because I wanted to let my muscles heal a little. My husband said I should make myself get back to it and work through the pain. I have also been told to rest my muscles so they won't break down more. I don't know what I should do. What do you think?
