I didn't overdo it for the dinner portion, but snacked more that I would have liked to beforehand. and drank more wine than I had originally intended. We did put off eating dessert until Friday, which was probably my saving grace. My family was crazy as usual, the Redskins beat the Cowboys and dinner was delicious. Successful Thanksgiving!

I had small portions on my dinner plate of each item and didn't overdo it on anything. One 8oz glass of soda and 2 8oz cups of sweet tea, followed by 4 cups of water.
Then, they put out dessert.
5 sample slices later - it all fit on one dessert plate and each slice was tiny!! - I tried all there was to offer and I was stuffed. The pecan pie and triple layer chocolate cake were the best. Lemon meringue and cherry were kind of a bust. Chocolate pudding pie was somewhere in the middle.

Thanksgiving was great! I had a baked potato, avocado, and some broccoli. I made sure to have a protein shake before I left the house. I stayed under 1500 calories.
I ate too much delicious food but today is a new day!

I ate three pieces of pie after a reasonably small dinner. That would be two pieces of pie too many! I did not need both the ice cream and the whip cream!
That is how my Thanksgiving went!

I did really well. I stayed at the lower end of my calorie range and felt more than satisfied. I almost didn't want my apple hand pie! I also went for a 3.5 mile jog yesterday moring and this morning. Lots of people were jogging yesterday and only 2 this morning :)

Hubby was out of town, so dog and I got up, cleaned house and then went for a 5 mile walk. We came home, prepared a stuffed chicken and naked roasted veggies. Ate it and was well within my calorie range, weighed in today and am down almost half a pound since Sunday. I am proud of not undoing all my hard work and learning that I can eat well without overdoing it. Thanks Sparkpeople for teaching this old dog some new tricks!
That's awesome! I actually didn't stay within range (that's wasn't part of my goal for yesterday). Instead, I did actually log ALL the food I ate-which was in the upper 3000's, but the fact that I wrote it down makes me feel accomplished. I also ended up going for 4 long walks throughout the course of the day which totaled to about 4 miles. I honestly hadn't planned on exercising that much yesterday. The only thing I would have done differently is to drink more water-I only had soda, a cup of coffee, and some martinelli's. While I didn't stay within range, I do feel accomplished because I'm setting up the habits of exercising and logging all my food first. Yesterday was day 19 of being 100% honest with the tracker (though no necessarily within rage)

I did just fine. I didn't go to fitness ctr, but I did do some things around the house. I knew the menu and also planned ahead the portions of what I would eat. I, too, was the last to finish. Amazingly I stayed pretty close to target even though I splurged on a small piece of apple pie. On way home I felt great physically, mentally and emotionally. I really can do this. Thank you.

Mine went pretty well! I went to the gym in the morning and did a solid round of cardio. I also ate a healthy veggie scramble afterwards. At our meal, I loaded up with veggies and still let myself have tastes of the other stuff. And I splurged on an amazing piece of apple pie for dessert. :) (Unfortunately we still have leftovers of 3 different kinds of pie downstairs.)
In hindsight, I would have drank more water and less wine, and eaten more slowly... but all in all, I think I did ok. Nothing to feel too guilty about!

Thanks to the Spark advice, I stayed within my calorie range. Okay, it was busting into the ceiling, but still! I decided before dinner what I would eat and drink, ate mindfully and slowly, and avoided the kitchen -- no picking! My mound of food (there was plenty and it was delish) was half the size of the others. I was the last to finish, and this was after everyone else had gobbled down seconds. I am feeling terrific today and not so freaked out about the month ahead. Thanks for the strategies, Sparklers. How was your day?
