I do not eat while sitting down at a desk, ever, unless it is some kind of done-and-gone meal or snack that I've portioned out elsewhere and simply taken to that place to eat. Mindless snacking without some kind of strict limit is a recipe for disaster IMO almost no matter what it is.
But we all have our bad habits that are nevertheless sustainable and so do I. If you want this one to be yours, you'll simply need to keep the calories as low as humanly possible. Try low-sugar/low starch veggies (even something like carrots could hypothetically be trouble if you were munching on them nonstop). Or maybe popcorn with no butter or oil added: a very low-density/high volume food.

Some of my favorite healthy snacks - Greek yogurt, hard boiled eggs, half a small sandwich, small cup of veggie soup, crackers with cottage cheese, veggies with hummus....
Veggies are almost always the snacking food of choice if you need volume for lower calories - baby carrots, cucumber slices, etc. Anything you can eat with no or minimal toppings. Munching while working is a habit that is probably best broken or cut back on, as you may be compelled to make not so great choices when you don't have healthy snacks on hand as another poster pointed out. I have a designated afternoon snack that I have at my desk, but stick to that and only that. So I have something, but don't graze all afternoon.

I try to keep from grazing at work so I choose snacks like cheese or nuts that will keep me full between meals. If I have an undeniable urge to chew something but I'm not hungry, I'll chew gum.

I also favour snacks with some protein and fat.
My usual snacks:
Chopped veggies (carrots, cucumber and peppers) with hummus - I eat this almost every day Banana or apple with nut butter Cheese and crackers Guacamole and Beanitos (a high protein, high fibre, low-ish carb tortilla chip)

I like celery, carrots and cucumber. Lots of water and crunchy. Fruit is good too but you still have to watch out for portion size. However, I have been trying very hard to break myself of the snacking at work habit because when I don't have healthy snacks I will eat anything. So instead I will get up and walk around a little bit and get some water instead,
I don''t know anything about grapes and sugar (sorry). I like grapes, but for me...for a snack...not so much.
Only because when I eat a snack, I choose something to help fill me up. I want one thing to tide me over between lunch and dinner, and grapes is not it.
Protein and good fat is what I aim for. Like: an apple with 2 tbs peanut or almond butter, carrots and hummus, hard boiled eggs, greek yogurt with berries mixed it.

I have a sit down office job and have a bad habbit of munching while I work. What low fat, good for you snacks are out there? I'm told grapes are a good choice, but what about their sugar content? Thanks
