I try to stay light on the fruit and heavy on vegetables or else i gain weight. So my favorite recipes are mostly vegetables with a little fruit added. I often make them more the consistency of juice. I like a bunch of spinach and some strawberries for sweetness, or a bunch of broccoli with some lemon or tomato.

A co-worker bought a Nutri-bullet but I bought a Ninja about a year ago. Not quite as good as a Vitamix but also half the price. I have owned an old fashioned )on & off switch only) Osterizer and a multi-speed Waring - buy what's on sale if you only want to blend things. Just know that all blenders require at least one cup liquid since the engines are not heavy duty for grinding solid foods without that.
For me, I wanted to be able to put raw greens in, crush ice cubes, and use it daily. Here are some good recipes to start with that are easy and healthy. #1) Handful washed raw spinach 1 small banana peeled (I buy in bulk when cheap so freeze them whole then thaw in hot water just enough to peel just before using so I don't always need to add ice) 1 C light chocolate soy milk 1 tsp instant coffee Ice cubes as desired #2) 1 C coconut milk 3/4 C frozen blueberries (unsweetened) 1/2 C cut up fresh pineapple (or use canned) 1 scoop any soy protein powder 1/4 tsp cinnamon Ice cubes as desired #3) 1 C almond milk 2 Tbl peanut butter 1 Tlb honey 3 oz tofu (med or firm) 1/2 C unsweetened applesauce 1/2 grated carrots
