Thanks to you both... I'm glad your weight loss efforts are going well and it's nice to know I'm not alone in this. I really do think that - in weight loss and life in general - that yes, things change up, but not necessarily for the worse. I believe, like you both alluded to, that we're given skills to more than make up for the "loss" of our youth. Most of all... I think it can be detrimental to the weight loss effort- not to mention our mental well-being, to constantly be focusing on what's hard or what isn't working. Just wanted to see if anyone was on the same page with me. I'm sure there are many more of us out there! Again, thanks for your comments and all the best to you both.

I think about age bringing greater wisdom and dedication to your goal. As to whether it's harder or easier to lose weight after 40 or 50 or whatever, I suspect it varies according to an individual's health, muscle mass and nutritional smarts.

For myself, I'm smaller now than when I married (and I wasn't big then) so I'm pretty pleased with what I've accomplished, although there's always room for more strength training in my life :)

I agree with you. I am 71 and I think when you get older you are more dedicated to accomplishing your goal. At least, I hope so.

i am not going to get old until i am 110 and then i'm going to think about it!!!!

I see several threads on here about how it's so much harder to lose weight over 50 than it was in your younger days - but here's the thing: I don't see any difference!! It's coming off great and if anything I think it's easier than when I was younger! Is anyone with me???
