Depending on when in August, that could be more like 27 pounds in ONE month. Regardless, we're talking somewhere between about 2.5 and 5 pounds per week -- that is not slow at all. It's honestly far too fast for just about anyone who isn't severely obese or under a doctor's supervision, and I'm concerned as much about the fact that you're finding it too slow as I am about what you might be doing to get there. It doesn't sound from your description that you're doing anything extreme, but the results show that something somewhere may well be off kilter. You should almost certainly be eating more than you are right now, to slow that down to 2 pounds per week or less. You may be able to tolerate a faster rate of weight loss for now, but your body is likely to start fighting you eventually if you try to keep it up for long. The only exception might be if you lost a large fraction of that in the first week, sort of thing, which could have been water weight if you changed your diet to vastly less sodium or something.
(For reference I averaged about 1.5 pounds per week while losing and found that plenty fast -- it was almost more than my mind could handle, changing that fast, never mind my body.)
Your perception that after losing 27 pounds you haven't really changed -- that could be perfectly normal, depending how heavy you are now. I "only" had 45 to lose total and could barely feel a change in my clothes after 5, could see a significant change in the mirror after about 15, other people started commenting after 25 ... it was only after that that it started feeling like a train about to run off the track half the time. (I think part of the cause might be the tendency to try to hang onto your too-small clothes while gaining weight, so it takes forever to "shrink out of" that first set, but then the ones you buy after that seem like they're falling off you before you can blink.) If you have more to lose than I did, all those numbers will be correspondingly higher. But it happens, there's no way it can't. You just need to focus on the day to day, and suddenly it sneaks up on you.

I agree with the previous posters that 27 pounds in 2 months is a very fast rate of weight loss. I wouldn't encourage you to lose any faster (it's harder to maintain the loss and can result in a lot of loose skin).

You are actually losing weight faster. You may not notice a difference because you look at yourself so often. I only lost 10 pound in the same period, and I don't really notice it either. See what other people think. You may want to invest in a measuring tape and have someone measure you so you can "see" the difference.

27 lbs in two months is not a slow weight loss. It is a rapid weight loss. A healthy rate of weight loss is generally considered to be 1-2 lbs per week.

I have lost 27 pounds since August. I just expected to start looking different and see a big difference in my clothes.

I'm having the same problem. I know people don't believe me when I tell them how many calories I eat a day (1200-1500) and that I'm exercising at least 30 minutes, 5 days a week. But, I'm almost afraid to say aloud that I tweaked my eating plan just a little bit adding more protein and veggies and just a very little fruit. It's only been a week but the scale moved. I hope I keep it up.

It sounds like you're doing everything right! Sometimes it just takes patience. As we age, it seems like it takes a lot longer to loss the weight. Remember: Slow and Steady wins the race!

I am eating between 1200 and 1500 calories of healthy food per day and I'm exercising (cardio and strength) 3 to 4 days per week. I don't think I'm losing the amount of weight I should be losing. I wonder if I'm doing something wrong?!?! I remember weight coming off more quickly in the past! Any suggestions or advice would be much appreciated!
