Hi, everyone, how are you doing today?

I'm doing well, even with this cold that's lessening my desire to exercise. I'm doing it anyway though. You know what they say, No Excuses!

I'm also struggling to eat right. Despite telling myself that I can resist certain foods, I just eat them anyway. I seem to turn to comfort foods when I'm sick.

But that's still No Excuse for me to eat unhealthy. I just need to focus on my body's needs and not on my insane cravings.

So here I start again tonight with dinner, eating healthy food. Plus getting my 10 min. of exercise.

Hope this brief note can encourage some of you today.

Hi, everyone!

Homemade fudge is a diet killer some days, but I'm staying a way from it tonight. I'm so sick of the stuff, I could puke. I'm eating fruit and veggies instead.

I do need to do better with my exercise and eating less starchy carbs though. Other than that, I'm doing well.

I don't know if people are allowed to post comments in this thread, but if you can, I sure can use some encouragement tonight. Thank you.

Hello, everyone! It's been a long time since I posted in here, hasn't it? I'm sorry it's taken me so long to get back to y'all. I've been taking a long break from Sparkpeople and haven't felt like posting here much. My plan is to come back here and post more often.

It's been a REALLY LONG TIME since I've posted in here! I've not been on here much and when I've been here, I've posted in my blog more often than here. I will try to post here more often, but if I forget, it might be that my brain is getting lost in cyberspace & is defragmenting byte by byte. emoticon

I just realized that I've not posted in my community journal since December. A lot has happened since then. I gained weight over the winter and am having trouble losing it again. I'm in the process of moving to a new home, since we have to move out of my current one. I've been putting my life and my health on hold, taking care of an elderly relative who had Alzheimer's, so now it's time to take care of myself and get back on plan.

I've not been following my healthy eating and exercise plan like I needed to, so I just need to get back to it again. I'm going to bed in a few minutes and starting again tomorrow. "Better late than never" I guess.

Anyway, y'all have a blessed day or evening!

Yeah, it's been a while since I posted here, but I'm not doing so well diet wise. Gained and lost the same 5 or so lbs. Need to stop letting stress make me eat and take better care of myself.

Hi, everyone! Just checking in to state that I'm doing well despite the stress that I've been under recently. After a bout of stomach flu, I no longer want to eat sweets (see blog entry for today for details.) I hope that this will continue, because I needed something to stop me from eating them. I guess having the stomach flu is better than diabetes, would you say?

Hi everyone!
I'm not doing well today. I ate yellow Peeps and feel depressed about a relative not wanting to try to get better. I realize that it's his choice to be that way, but it's hard on all of us, especially me, since he is our family's foundation. Without him, we would all be fragmented and split apart.

For me anyway, I'm part of a much larger family, the family of God. By accepting Jesus as my Savior and repenting of my sins, including eating too much, I have a future home and eternal life in heaven. I'm so looking forward to Jesus' soon return. Even so, come Lord Jesus.

Hi everyone! How are you doing? I'm doing fine. I did some cardio and strength training today, but my eating habits stink! Two brownies, 1 piece of white cake and a big bowl of sugar free vanilla ice cream sure made my moods go south.

I know what I need to do to correct this situation and that starts tonight with no more food. Then it's early to bed, early to rise, makes a woman healthy and wise.

Well, I watched Biggest Loser tonight and it was wild. Talk about stuff hitting the fan! I don't feel sorry for Joelle, who makes ME want to scream when she's complaining about not being able to work out as hard as she thinks she can. She doesn't realize what she's missing!

A few years ago, I had some foot problems that prevented me from doing much cardio and limited strength training exercises. I realized that my weight was contributing to my foot problems, so I started eating a healthy low carb eating plan and lost weight, even though I couldn't do much exercise while my foot healed.

When my foot healed enough for me to do more exercise, then I took advantage of the opportunity and did as much as I could when I felt like doing it. I'll admit, I didn't always feel like getting my fat bottom off of that couch and get out to walk or whatever, but I did it anyway.

I also had some other medical issues, which limited some of the exercises I could do, but I did my best to work around them, so I have no reason to not exercise now, after what I've managed to accomplish, with God's help, of course.

So my message to anyone who has physical or other limitations that prevent them from doing strenuous cardio exercises is, DO SOMETHING and DON'T COMPLAIN ABOUT WHAT YOU CAN'T DO! Even if it's just walking around your house, that's a start. There's an article here about a woman who'd lost 60 lbs. just doing that. Every little bit helps, so get moving, Okay?

I've not posted in a while. Doing okay, just trying to hang in there. Started weighing myself on new Biggest Loser scale. Looking forward to Biggest Loser show tomorrow night. Starting new challenge in my SP class.

I'm posting briefly tonight to report that I GAINED 3.5 lbs this last Saturday. Not a good sign, but a new year starts Thursday, so I'm taking baby steps toward becoming more healthy. I'm drinking Slim Fast Low Carb Shakes and Atkins Advantage Shakes for breakfast and taking hoodia, so hopefully, that will help me get back to losing again. Now if I can just get off my butt and get exercising...

Tonight, I'm just posting a little bit, because I'm about to go to bed, but I'm thinking about my New Years resolutions. I need to make my annual list of goals I want to accomplish, but I can't seem to think of anything right now. I'm going to check out the New Years Resolutions thread and maybe develop some from there.

This is where I'll share my weight loss success and failures, my weight loss tips, ideas, helpful and encouraging thoughts and links that I find useful. Feel free to comment on anything I post here.
