Sorry you're sick. Rest and take it easy!

It sounds like you are doing the right things. You can still track your food while you are sick, and try to keep it at the lower end of your correct calorie range. But with the flu you really do want to rest as long as you're sick, or it will take longer to get over. I had a flu a few weeks ago, and I made the mistake of trying to be active before I was really over it, and so it took longer. You can always pick up your program where you left off when you are all better!

My head is clearer and my voice is still "iffy" but I am trusting God to bring my healing.

Thanks!

Take the time to rest with the flu; keep eating your soup and drinking plenty of fluid. I don't think you will gain with being sick right now; once you get over the flu you get back to healthy eating routine. emoticon

Sorry you picked up the flu :( Something like that isn't really an illness that you can work through. The general rule of thumb is light exercise is ok if the sickness is contained above the neck and no exercise if its in your chest/body.

The best thing you can do is follow your doctor's advice for rest and fluids. Trying to push your body when you're sick is a recipe for a longer recovery. Once the fever and body aches have gone away, that's when I'd start evaluating whether you're ready to start exercising (lightly) again. Feel better soon!

Went to the doctor yesterday and he diagnosed me with Type A Flu. He said to rest and take in plenty of fluids. I have only been with SP for about 2 weeks and have lost 4 pounds. I don't want to gain that back and more so, when can I exercise and how? I want to stay on track.

Also, my throat is too sore to eat much more than jello, ice cream and chicken noodle soup but only about 1 or 2 tablespoons at a time.
