I suspect the reason there are so many "selfies" taken in bathrooms is because bathrooms tend to have mirrors that will show off a person in either full or half length. You don't need someone taking a photo when you can take one of yourself in a mirror.
A friend of mine asked for an honest opinion of a picture he took of himself that he planned to post on his dating profile. Well, it was a selfie taken in a bathroom with him wearing a T shirt.
It wasn't a bad photo, BUT... this is what I replied,"NO selfies in T shirts or in bathrooms. They are tacky and scream Jersey Shore".
After that remark, I was recruited to take a proper photo that has since been posted on his profile.

What is a "selfie?" Is that a picture you take of yourself? If so, why would anyone choose to take their picture in a bathroom?
Other than that - who cares. It's a picture. Not "smell-i-vision"
I don't get selfies in the bathroom either. There are plenty of other places to take your picture! It doesn't offend me but I think it's odd.

I do not understand the selfifes with toilets in the background. Don't most of the modern smartphones have a front camera so you can just look in it and click? I suppose if they want a full shot to show an outfit or something that would not work, plus the back camera usually has a falsh and is higher quality...so I guess that is why they do it with a mirror.
It makes me laugh though because I even know of professional photographers who post these types of selfies. I would think with their expensive equipment and a tripod, they could figure out how to set up their camera to take a timed picture without any mirror or being in the bathroom....LOL. I do take "selfies" of myself to show new outfits or whatever, but I use one of the alternate methods of above...or have somebody else take the picture! With all that said, the selfies in the bathroom don't bother me or gross me out. But they do make me chuckle sometimes. The worst ones I have seen are men with no shirt on...like Geraldo.
