Here's my silly method: After I've had my last meal/snack for the day, I clean up the kitchen. Then I say loudly, "The kitchen is closed." After that I don't go back into the kitchen for the rest of the evening. It usually works pretty well. If I start feeling snacky, I just tell myself too bad because THE KITCHEN IS CLOSED!

This is a really common concern. I used to be a night eater too, then i took up knitting and quilting. It keeps my hands busy as well as my mind. If, however, i DO get hungry or just HAVE to have something, i drink a glass of icewater first, then i have a small snack. some air popped popvorn, an apple, some celery and/or carrot sticks, some berries, etc. If its ice cream i'm craving, i make a smoothie out of some nonfat no sugar yogurt, ice cubes, frozen strawberries or blueberries, and a splash of crystal light. I have a magic bullet which crushes ice and you can make it the consistancy of ice cream. its great!!

I struggle with my diet most in the evenings and before I go to bed.... It's not that I don't eat enough during the day; it's more so that my will power decreases as I become more tired. Really trying to get a hold on this and wondering what's worked for you!
