Thanks FaithP44, for your reply! I agree that slow weight loss is more sustainable, and the statistics support that totally. For me, 8 lbs a month is about right. I could not hold the momentum at less than that because I am bipolar and I am too much subjected to mood swings. So I kind of have to USE my mood swings to lose weight, or else they will work against me. I appreciate your support very much. That is good advice about liking yourself as you are. sarah

Hey Sarah, it sounds as if you're doing so well. Just wanted to encourage you in what you're doing. I won't join the challenge because I'm only aiming to lose 3-4 lb a month - looking for lifestyle change that I can maintain after I've lost the weight so deliberately taking it slowly, but keep going, you're doing great. And just be encouraged - I don't know who you've got around you that love and support you, but God loves you just the way you are - and it's good for you to like yourself now - not just when you've lost the weight.
My challenge is to change my life in the next 6 months. I can lose 50 lbs and save money to move and go back to school, where I was happy and liked myself. I want to do that again! The book The Spark inspired me to do this. People around me are discouraging me but they won't stop me. People who say it cannot be done should not get in the way of the people who are busy doing it! I have been in the house alone and isolated for 12 years. I have had enough! ENOUGH IS ENOUGH! Anyone care to join me? Sarah
