Did he bring it for you, or for himself? If he didn't say it's for you, then it's not for you. Don't steal a man's ice cream! Tell yourself that it would be morally wrong to eat it, because it's his, not yours.
If he brought it for you, then this is a serious teachable moment. If you have asked him not to bring you treats, or even if you've just told him you're trying to avoid sweets, then you MUST NOT TOUCH THE ICE CREAM. If you tell a man you don't want something but then you eat it, you have just trained him to pay attention to what you do, not what you say. He thinks he has figured out what you really, truly want and he has delivered it. Getting mad at him for that is like kicking a puppy.
Be kind to him. Don't confuse him. Tell him that you appreciate him bringing you a treat, but you're trying to be healthier and live longer so you'll have more time to spend with him. Tell him that if he wants to give you something, you would really love flowers, or your favorite author's new book, or the earrings you were looking at last week-- something nice and personal and non-caloric.
But whatever you do, don't eat the ice cream after telling him you don't want it. That's not fair to a guy.

Best not to kill him though. You might kinda wish you hadn't done that afterwards. xx

If you think you can have a couple bites, then take them. Yet before you taste the ice cream, drink 12 oz of water as it will fill you up.
get yourself some fruit or something you can have.

OMG ice cream is my weakness too. My Husband is prone to bringing home Bluebell ice cream, sometimes two half gallons so I know how you feel! An alternative is Skinny Cow and WW which have pretty good, portioned, low cal ice cream treats that are just enough to satisfy but not wreck your nutrition plan for the day. Fight fire with fire!

It is not the item, but how much you eat. Enjoy a scoop.
