Yeah those Gels really add on the calories fast on a long runs but adding that extra 500 is a good idea.

TALANJS,
On my LSD (long, slow distance) run days, I usually up my calories for that day by as much as an extra 500 calorie--some of the calories coming from my refueling source during the run itself and the other calories applied to my post-run refueling. As to what is the proper amount for you will take some practice.

I have recently become a runner and in doing so one of my weekly run is very long causing my to burn over 1500 calories but my daily intake is only 1800-2200. These doesn't seem like enough for the day, is it ok because it averages out over the week? Or should i just plan to eat more that day?
