I have been playing derby for 5 months now and absolutely love it! I just finished a 2 day boot camp with Mack the Mouth, Teflon Donna, 8mean Wheeler and Kim Janna. It was so awesome!

Strength training!!! You would be amazed by how much harder you can push yourself once you build up your core especially. Planks will do wonders! I also do pole fitness which helps build a lot of strength. Roller derby will provide all the cardio you need! I have been derbying for 3 years and been skating for 10+ years.

Our team is definately working on our endurance during practices and i am trying to add some extra at home. I am also trying to build my core and increase my agility.

My boss is a Derby girl. I wish I was coordinated enough to be more than just the makeup artist!

Endurance, endurance, endurance.

If you have any say in your training, up your endurance. It's going to make a world of difference when bouting.

Though I'm not currently on a team, I do love derby! I'm no expert, but I've been told to make sure to get some protein in after a workout and make sure to stay hydrated. Rock it out!

Just giving a shout out to any derby girls (or guys) out there who are trying to get fit. Does anyone have any tips or tricks to share?
