We are our own worst critics. Flaws we see in ourselves, no one else sees. Twice in my life, I weighed over 200+ pounds. Do you know what's interesting ? I had a better self image of myself when I was overweight. Don't get me wrong. I am thrilled at having lost the weight and keeping it off. BUT, like a lot of women, I wondered why my body wasn't good enough. The fact is, your body IS good enough as it is. You don't need to lose more weight.
What you need is a better self image as well as a bit more self esteem. Like I said, women beat themselves up because they don't look like the images in the magazines. We've lost weight. Why don't we have perfectly flat stomachs ? Why don't we have perky boobs ?
Well, it's because when we lose weight, we get loose skin or stretch marks. They never show stretch marks in the magazines. You never see any sagging skin because that's all airbrushed out. No one is perfect. I had to learn that the hard way. What I've learned in my own journey is this... What my body can do is more important than how it looks.
Like you, I lost a lot of weight. but, I have sagging skin and stretchmarks. Will they ever go away ? Some of my skin did pop back. Some didn't. And I'm okay with that. Why ? Because even though I may not look like the women in the magazine, I can do things they can't. I can do 100+ military style push ups. I completed a Spartan Sprint. I've run in 5k and 10K road races. That's what really counts.
If you keep trying to lose weight to be perfect, you're going to end up miserable. Trust me, I've been there.
Learn to appreciate what your body can do. That's what's really important. My advice ? instead of trying to lose those last few pounds, why not set a fitness goal for yourself ? Have you ever run in a 5K road race ? If not, why not try ? Can you do 100+ push ups ? If not, there is a website that will teach you to do 100+ military style push ups. How about a Tough Mudder ?
Change your focus from weight loss to fitness. Don't tie your emotions to the scale. there really is more to good health than a number that stares at us from between out toes in the morning. People assume that losing weight will make them happy. That is a misconception. the happiness buck stops right here. If you're not happy with yourself now, you're not going to be happy later. You'll just find something else to criticise.
That's why I suggest shifting your focus away from the scale. Set a goal for yourself, you'll feel much more accomplished if you do.
At 5' 3" your BMI is already JUST UNDER 22 which is perfectly healthy - why would you be wanting to lose more weight?
I read your SparkPage and note you commented that you have flabby skin on your tummy and that flab means fat, and you also mentioned surgery, but did add that you didn't want to spend the money.
Well, rather than wanting to lose weight, you would be better off at toning! You can do this by doing Pilates and working with weights, and perhaps a wee bit less focus on cardio. You might find it helpful to get a gym to measure your body fat, using the 9 point calipers, AND make sure that the person is actually qualified to do it.
You are hungry so it is quite likely that you aren't eating enough for what you do. Do you weigh all of your food for increased accuracy and enter it into the Nutrition Tracker? What calories are you consuming? .... and ....are you getting a good amount of protein into your meals? Make sure it is protein from lean sources, not processed meats. Make sure that you also eat plenty of fruit and veges - the fibre helps to keep us full. Don't be tempted to skip any meals, either.

There are a few important factors:
1. Continue tracking. 2. Continue to weigh yourself weekly and make adjustments to diet/fitness accordingly. 3. Continue to set new goals for yourself in both diet and fitness.

I am about 5'3 to 5'4" and I weigh 124 pounds. Last year this time, I weighed 118-119 pounds.
My highest weight ever in life was 200. I dropped to 150 because I got sick. Then I went from 150 to 118 by calorie counting.
I have been exercising a lot (cardio, toning). I find that I am getting hungry more often so I do eat when I am hungry and stop when I am full. I have not been as strict with my calories as I should though so that is probably why I have gained weight. If you are not strict with your calories and you have bad genes like I do, you will blow up quickly!
I know this sounds silly but I am scared of blowing up and getting fat again. When you are already at a healthy weight, how do you lose weight without being hungry all of the time? How do you get that last 5 pounds off?
I am in my late 20s. I would like to drop down to where I was last year which was 119. That will give me some wiggle room so even if I do gain weight, I will not blow up.
I am not on Spark People online a lot but I track my calories the old fashioned way (on paper).
