You did the right thing--planning ahead. So many of us (me included) make poorer choices when we are bombarded with a menu and just a few minutes to decide. The pictures and smells often make us order for pleasure rather than nutrition (fuel).

Thank you all for your input !! I had the pasta e fagoli & salad with ONE bite of my husband's breadstick. Our waitress was wonderful & when she asked me if I'd like another bowl of soup, I asked if she could put it directly into a to-go container for me...normally they aren't supposed to do it but I let her know of my dietary needs (I had the gastric sleeve surgery 2 months ago) & she was more than happy to do that for me.
It was a win-win !! I had a lovely lunch with the family & I have leftovers for 2 days !!

I usually get the pasta e fagoli and have one breadstick with it ( I make sure any extra breadsticks are wrapped up so I can't see them and then have no trouble avoiding them). Then we usually split an appetizer of some type or else I'll have two bowls of the soup.

The family is going to Olive Garden for Easter. I have done my homework & looked up the website for their nutritional information. I think I know what I'm going to order but I would love some input please.
