When I eat Mexican, I order ala carte. I can get two tacos with rice and beans for a decent number of calories. I like to eat the salsa but not too many chips, so I'll put salsa into my rice and beans plate.
If I don't order ala carte, most everything comes in a sauce and I don't know how to track that. Besides, then I feel in better control of what I'm eating.

Does the place you are going to post their menu online?
That will kinda be your first step. Even if they don't give nutrition amounts - you can Google the food and get approximations of that will be best to order.

I am meeting up with my best friend and her sister this weekend for dinner. We normally go for Mexican food, so I wanted to see what people have ordered that is healthy. I know restaurants don't really know much about "portion control" so I know I have to look out for that. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated! Thank you!
