I just resisted temptation today too! I was offered chips (I'm a huge salt tooth) and I bypassed them for a chicken salad. It's a greater feeling in the long run compared to that immediate gratification you get from junk food.

Was at an event and the table had trays full of cookies and pretty little petite fours. I filled up on veggies, fruits and hummus and allowed myself to sample several of the teeny cakes since they were within the range for the day and they were more special than the cookies, which I bypassed. They were soooo good. I was so tempted to go back for more, but I resisted.
At the end, they encouraged people to take leftovers, so I gabbed a small plate of cookies and petite fours for my son for a treat when he got home from work. They made it intact on the car ride home and to his room and through the hours it took for him to get home.
Really worked out my willpower. Normally I just skip treats -- not because I don't think they can be part of a healthy diet but because they trigger the crazy addiction center in my brain. Last night I won!
