Melt butter in a large pot over medium heat. Add cabbage and sauté until slightly wilted, about 5 minutes. Add sugar maybe a packet or two, toss to coat evenly. Add some balsamic vinegar and add caraway seeds. Taste and adjust to your taste for sweetness. You can also use stevia to sweeten. Cover and simmer about 35-30 minutes until soft. Add some pepper to taste.

I like it raw, sliced thin with red onions and dressed with a mix of apple cider vinegar, mustard powder, a little brown sugar and a little oil.
I usually season steamed cabbage with a little lemon pepper and a small amount of butter. A little bit of soy sauce would be good, too. A dash of siracha and rice wine vinegar would also keep the Asian flavor going, depending on what you're having it with.
