If you are submitting a recipe to the shared database, it cannot be a recipe that is copyrighted/taken from another source. However, if you just save it for your own recipe box and not submit it to the shared database, that is fine - just don't check the box to submit it as shared. When you submit your recipe, you will see at the bottom of the page the following text:

"DO NOT SUBMIT RECIPES COPIED FROM ANOTHER WEBSITE, BLOG, COOKBOOK OR OTHER COPYRIGHTED SOURCE!
Optional: Add your recipe to our shared recipes database on SparkRecipes.com
Do you have a recipe that is healthy, delicious, and unique? If so, submit it to be shared with others on SparkRecipes.com and SparkPeople.com (and our various properties). When you check the box below to share your recipe you are agreeing to our Recipe Sharing Terms, which include:
- Granting SparkPeople full rights to the recipe, including the right to make any changes to the recipe
- Acknowledging that you did not copy the recipe from a book, website, or other copyrighted source. (Any copyrighted recipe on the site will be deleted.)
- Accepting that SparkPeople may or may not approve your recipe.

In addition, we ask that you do not share common-knowledge recipes (like Tuna Salad or Peanut Butter and Jelly). All submitted recipes will appear on SparkRecipes right away, but common and duplicated recipes are likely to get low ratings. "

I can tell you that when you go to SP recipes and to a certain recipe, you can see at the top there's an orange bar with different options and one of them is the recipe calculator. That's where you can put your own recipe in. I've put in recipes from Cooking Light and other recipes all the time. You first put your ingredient in at what the whole amount is for the whole recipe. Say, you want whole wheat flour and if the recipe calls for 1-1/2 cups that's what you'll put in, and then for your next ingredient, you'll have to click on "add ingredient" again. With each ingredient that you add, a list of items will come up that are like your ingredient and then you choose from that list. You log all you total ingredients and then it'll take you to a site where you'll see your whole recipe listed and then below that, they ask you to put your ingredients in another spot just as you would write it on a recipe card. Like 1-1/2 cups whole wheat flour, etc. Because with the first list of ingredients, it won't make it quite so clear. Like it'll be in ounces, or pounds, and you'll have to convert where they give you converting scale option too. The rest of it, you will just follow what they ask. Pretty simple but I sure had trouble to begin with. Good luck! I can't tell you about adding to your 28-day challenge. emoticon emoticon

I have been using these recipes for over a year. Just now got more in depth with this site at the start of this challenge. I was wondering if we were allowed to post recipes that are not ours but that we liked and were healthy. Also, can't I add that I made a SP recipe to my 28 day challenge? If so, can you tell me how? TY :)
