Iím in the same boat as you PACECHANGER. I have a junkfood addiction. Iím now in my 4th week of the ďTame Your Sweet ToothĒ challenge that GYPSYGOTH mentioned and have had only a minor slip in the first week. For me, itís been a tough 4 weeks without cakes, cookies, candy and chips. Challenges seem to be the only thing that helps with my addiction. My concern is what will happen after the challenge is over. Itís unrealistic for me to think that Iíll never eat junkfood again. Iíll try to reincorporate it back into my diet in moderation, but I know that before long Iíll be outta control again. Whatís a junkie to do? Iíll guess Iíll go find another challenge. Itís a vicious cycle.
Consider joining a challenge. It does help.
Best of luck to you.

Put on some upbeat music.
If you find yourself dancing in your seat, take it a step further. Get up and start dancing on your feet.
You'll burn more calories that way.

welcome pacechanger!

looks like this would be a great team for you!

(there are also a few others dealing with sugar addiction!)

i usually try to drink an herbal tea when i have a sweets craving, or have some fruit, a small piece of dark chocolate and some milk, or a bunch of raw veggies (even though that's not the same, you can eat a TON).

good luck on your journey and welcome!

Hi All,

I am middle-aged and not ready to throw in the towel :) I do not drink alcohol because, to be honest, it does not taste good to me. BUT ... I am addicted to sugar! I have had a love affair with sugar and I think it is time for us to break up as my hubby prefers I concentrate on him rather than fluffy thigh making desserts. I need some help getting serious about this change - I could use a weight loss buddy to help me when I am weak and thinking of shoveling the peanut butter pretzels in my mouth! If you are game I will get serious with you!

Here is to my first day on this site and hoping today marks the change in my feasting habits and thigh measurements :)
