I'm so glad I was somehow lead to this message board. I have high blood pressure an am pre-diabetic and will definitely take advantage of the advise here. Thank you so much.

Wonderful.
Get your husband the book by Richard Bernstein M.D. "The Diabetes Solution" and ask him to read it. (I got a copy from the college library.)

Ask him to listen to the lectures on diabetes from Richard Bernstein M.D. on YouTube. Dr. Bernstein has had Type 1 diabetes since he was 12 and he was told he'd not live past 42, but he is 78 today and very healthy. Most of the patients he treats are Type 2 diabetics. He says ALL obese people are Insulin Resistant and will get Type 2 diabetes unless they change their lifestyle. I learned so much from reading his books.

7 months in today and have lost 32 lbs, healthy bmi and 3 lbs from my goal. It's been a long time since I've been this weight and have muscle definition. I turn 50 this year, I have a nearly 7 yr old, and my husband has diabetes and high blood pressure. I think I hoped he'd see it was doable - yet he still chooses to let the pills do the work and keep his diseases in check. He did ask me today what my total weight loss was and how I felt... Maybe, there is a spark there. Hoping...
