I can watch both, just for fun, not really to learn anything. I like Giada's cooking but her continual smile irks me for some reason. I do like the barefoot contessa. Love lidia on PBS. She is so calm when she cooks.

I love Paula Deen - which is why I am here! but the healthy versions of her recipes are pretty good substitutes.

Rachael Ray. She is certainly not my favorite but Paula's food is fattening and that over the top accent and loud laugh make me change the channel instantly. Can't stand listening to her!!!
I liked watching Paula Deen at times. If I saw a recipe of hers that sparked my interest I would make it as a treat far and few between. I like her southern hospitality, she has a real cuteness about her that kept me interested in watching her. As far as Rachel Ray, I watched her a few times and she does cook fattening foods as well but there is also something about her that annoys me too, I don't know what it is but I find her annoying so I never had the chance to jot one of her recipes down. I agree if they harp on one for cooking unhealthy then harp on all. Even the show "The Chew" uses way toooooo much salt! I know salt is to enhance flavor, but dang you think in this day and age they could find something equivalent to what salt does to food without it being bad for us. I don't use much salt and my taste buds and families are used to it, but when inviting guests I tell them you may want to grab the salt shaker this woman uses very little salt when cooking. :).....I would have a great appreciation for the person who discovers a salt alternative that worked the same exact way as salt does but was good for us.

I don't watch Rachael Ray because she is annoying, and I don't watch Paula Dean because of her fattening food. I suppose if I watched RR I would know about her fattening issues...but she bugs me. I actually don't watch too many cooking shows...except Giada at home. Most of her stuff seems pretty good. And I watch the contest shows cuz they are fun.
People use to get on Paula Deen a lot because of her using way too much butter and fattening recipes, but I've been watching the Rachael Ray show and let me tell you she makes just as fattening dishes as Paula does I mean she really goes over board with salt and EVOO and yes even butter. I think they all should be showing more healthier versions of comfort food and I don't think just Paula should be getting in trouble for all of her fattening recipes when Rachael Ray is just as bad.
