It was most definitely a hotter summer than I ever remember in the Ohio Valley this year -- but the 'dog days' just started, so we've still got a long row to hoe.

That said - it rained today and now it feels *AWESOME*

I live in Florida. What you call a heat wave, we call "August." We are actually disappointed when tropical storms and hurricanes miss us.

Looking at the weather map, I'd say I'm in the only region of the lower 48 that isn't in it.

Yes, but woke up this morning to clouds and then a nice shower. I hope it's like this all day - we so need the rain!!

It seems other states are getting our usually high temps that California usually have. It is nice here. It still gets hot, but not near as hot as other summers. The evenings are wonderful, they are just right! I do not miss the high temps here :)

30+ days of 100F temps. Lows in 80's. NO RAIN whatsoever for well over a month. Not pleasant at all.

E.T.A.: I actually go out and water more for the birds and frogs and stuff, as much as for my lawn. I can't figure out how the critters are staying alive with NO WATER to be found, and still water evaporating in heat.

Yes in denmark, the warmer the better.. I am used to 40 degrees in the shade back home in New Zealand.. Love hot dry weather, helps my astma.

Also a huge change from wet and cold weather in general.. When not hot it rains like a mother..
