When I first started I would workout 2-4 times a week. I started with cardio for the first month and added in ST once I had gotten into the exercising habit. I don't do both cardio and ST on the same day - I alternate.
In general, cardio exercise 3-4 days a week and strength training twice a week is a good start. You can do your strength workouts on the same days as your cardio or different days, whichever works best for you.
It sounds like you're off to a great start! Keep it up!

My schedule when I was losing (and more or less still now that I'm maintaining) was to do cardio 4 days a week and strength training 2 days a week. I don't do cardio and strength training on the same day because I don't feel like I can put in a full effort on both if I'm somewhat tired from doing whichever one I do first.

When I started with Spark, I did the 28 day bootcamp challenge. It's a great way to establish a fitness routine. All you need are some weights or cans/water bottles. You do a 10 minute Coach Nicole video a day for the first week. Subsequent weeks, more training is added. You can find the bootcamp if you go to Community then Challenge Central.
What should my fitness routine look like as far as cardio and toning/strength training. Should I do Cardio everyday and then add toning to that 2-3 times a week. Or do I do them on alternating days?
If it makes a difference, I am very out of shape, so I am starting fairly small. So far I have done Walk Away the Pounds 2 mile walk the last 2 days and Zumba step-by-step the day before that. So nothing extremely long or high-impact.
This is my first week since I joined SP and made the decision to get healthier. I have been reading as many articles as I can, trying to learn how to do this the right way. This is the one big question that I can't find the answer to. It is probably right in front of my nose too...LOL!
