Personally, I track my Just Dance 4 sessions as low impact aerobics. Most of the time, I am doing a mix of high and low impact moves but I undertrack it to be on the safe side.

Most forms of exercise are 6-10 calories per minute. If it felt like a medium intensity for you, let's say 8 to estimate. That would be 8*20 = 160 calories.

Not 12.

You sure it didn't say 120?

Dance 4 is a "music video game" according to Google. Does that mean you danced it for one normal pop song - about 3-4 minutes?

12 calories would be about right. In this case I would say kcal = calories. The terms usually are used interchangeably. As another poster said, it's unlikely you actually burned 12,000 calories. :)

If it was more than 5 minutes though, something's off...

How long did you exercise for? A Calorie, the measurement used for food is actually 1000 calories (notice change in capitalization), a unit of energy. So I would expect a Kcal to be one Calorie. But 12.5 seems very small.

Hi Ariel,

1 Kcal = 1000 calories. However, I doubt you expended 12,000 calories dances. What calorie calculator are you using. You may want to track it using SparkPeople's calorie calculator using the general-low impace aerobic option.
