I think I already shared what the research evidence reports as to the upper limit of tea consumption on a daily basis.
You can continue to use your supplements--as these may be prescribed by your doctor. However, recommendations suggest at least 2-3 hours difference in you taking of the supplements and the drinking of tea so that the 2 items are not mixed together at the same time in your system---which can decrease absorption of some of the nutrients.
Realize too that this site has a membership of over 15 million members with hundreds of posts daily. If you feel you are in desperate need of accurate medical/nutrition information more quickly---then it would be wise to contact your doctor.

Ok. It looks like I'll need to figure this out on my own as there is no response back on this, and there's a possibility that you won't ever respond, so I'm not going to bank on waiting.
I'll continue doing my own research and experiments as far as what is the best option without any nutritional deprivation. I would hope others would do so as well, before putting all stock into someone who is supposed to be a nutritional expert yet, who has provided no insight that I could not have readily found on my own.

Just so that I am clear, you are recommending that I stop taking my vitapack supplements at the same time because the tannins in the tea can decrease the absorption...my confusion with this is the fact that green tea supposedly interferes with the absorption of iron which may eventually cause anemia and other related iron-deficiencies. Also, other sources are saying that tea may possibly be linked to things such as skeletal fluorosis, a bone disease caused by consuming too much fluoride (a mineral found in tea).. So.. wouldn't I be better off taking my vitamins and/or calcium and fish oil vitapacks as that would provide me some vital nutrients as opposed to nothing (aka not taking anything at all)?..
I really don't know what to believe as there are so many conflicting things and now I'm just confused.
1. I would suggest no more than the 40 ounces daily of the green tea. Assuming that each 8 ounce portion has about 80 milligrams of caffeine---that would put your caffeine intake at 400. If you find that you can not tolerate 400 milligrams of caffeine daily---then cut back; or use a decafe green tea for some of the portions. 2. Do not take your supplements at the same time as you drink tea. The tannins in the tea can decrease the absorption of some of the nutrients.

Now I need to go make me a cup. Thanks for the information about the recommend amount per day. I've only been drinking 2 a day. Just might have to add a couple more cups.
Becky would there be any other drinks that might help me wean off my addiction to soda? I only drink diet soda, but still a bit to much. Usually about 2-3 cans in a day. There are a few days when I don't have any, but not enough for me. I drink a lot of water through out the day as well.

Thank you for your response! I do not drink any other caffeinated products, only the green tea :) Before drinking the green tea about 5 days ago, I would drink about a 1/2 gallon of water per day.. if not a little more (yes, I am part camel lol) but after drinking my green tea, I have switched out my love of water for green tea which I don't know if that's a good thing or not (I'm guessing maybe not). Can my 5-8 cups of Green tea per day cause me issues with my bones in the future? I am also taking a women's vitapack (vitamins) that contain Fish Oil, Calcium and 2 daily vitamins, which I hope is adding valued nutrition to my life
Yes, my green tea is calorie free and I do not add any sugars and/or creams to my teas, never have and won't ever.
Healthy beverage guidelines suggest "no more" than 5 cups of tea daily (40 ounces). This is to keep your caffeine intake to less than 400 milligrams for the day. I assume your tea is calorie free? Are you getting caffeine from any other sources: coffee, cola, etc

I've been drinking green tea *consistently* for 5 days now.. and when I mean consistently, lol, i mean like.. 5-7 *teabags*, each with hot water for the last few days. The first 2 days I was only drinking 2-3 teabags, each with a cup of water per day.. but, as the days have been comin, I have been increasing my green tea dosage.
Now, there are several things I need to know:
1) Yes, I understand that supposedly 5-7 cups is supposed to be beneficial to one's health, as far as providing anti-oxidants, great health benefits for your body/organs, etc. However... my question is, how much is TOO much? I have read various answers online.. but isn't 5-7 cups TOO much caffeine to consume (isn't that much caffeine harmful for one's body?)
I have had to force myself to eat these past couple of days.. I feel perfectly fine with just drinking the green tea but I know that cannot be good for my body and I'm scared of my body cannibalising itself (isn't that what happens to anorexic people's bodies?).. This morning when I weighed myself (after yesterday having 5-7 teabags), I weighed in at 112!! My lack of appetite is scaring me as I DO want to lose a little weight (as I am 5'1 and I would like to be 105 LBS, which, for my height IS a healthy weight for my short body lol BUT.. I want to do it in the HEALTHY way. I just have not had time this week to exercise because I have very stressful deadlines for my school and have to focus all that attention until this Saturday)... After that I will get back into the gym like normal but with this added Green tea regime.
My main concern is that I will continue to lack an appetite.. I WANT TO EAT AND BE HEALTHY but I am SCARED that if I continue to take Green Tea as much as I have been, I will be nutritionally deficient.I do NOT want to be anorexic or nutritionally deficient! (or cause myself any LONG-TERM damage!)
I am just concerned about my lack of appetite, the "at maximum" consumption required (how much is too much?), and if anyone else has experienced the lack of appetite that I am experiencing. Should I just force myself to eat if I don't have an appetite? Or should I wait until I feel my stomach hurting than to eat (is it too late at that point for me to eat? Again, I am VERY afraid my body will start eating itself as I DO NOT WANT to be anorexic!). I would greatly appreciate any advice out there and I really need some guidance on this.
