I often had difficulty with protein until I switched over to Greek yogurt instead of regular yogurt. An insulated bag with a freezer pack will keep it cold quite a while.
Check out the Vegetarians/Vegans team; there's a thread on there with lots of suggestions for foods with good amounts of protein.
Nuts are good, but high in fat. Beans are also good, but you have the same refrigeration problem. You can add in roasted chickpeas (there are some good recipes on spark), and those don't need to be refrigerated.
But, yeah, an insulated bag may help.

Can you get an insulated lunch bag and ice pack? Tuna and salmon no drain pouches Nut and nutbutters Cottage cheese, yogurt, string cheese, hard boiled eggs
Jack Links makes snack packs of beef jerky. 50 calories, 9 grams of protein. A little heavy on the sodium, though. Also, how about nuts? They are often a good source of protein.
Another thing you can try is adding some cheese or Greek yogurt to your morning, when refrigeration is less of an issue.
I have always struggled with getting enough protein, especially when I am taking my lunches to work and don't always have access to a microwave or refrigerator. Taking leftovers with meat and cheese in them is sometimes hard. Any suggestions??
