I started to drink Champion Nutrition Whey for breakfast rather than eating cereal. It keeps me full until lunch time. I make it with soy milk and it's just the whey protein, I don't add anything else. My waist line is definitely smaller since I replaced the carb cereal with the protein.

fruits
soyayoghurt
soyamilk or almondmilk
hemp protein powder and some spelt flakes

in a blender ... not too often, but sometimes.
I prefer solid food ;)

jabomb, no offense but I think if I put what you put into your protein shakes... I would probably find it in the toilet a few minutes later lol! Maybe if I was strictly making a juice-type drink, but with a protein shake and milk? ICK! hah

I us unsweetened almond milk, protein powder, ground flaxseed, brewer's yeast, cocoa powder, lecithin and cinnamon.
I also sometimes add frozen berries instead of the cocoa powder.

I love my herbalife shakes! Cookies and cream and orange cream are my new favorites. I make the orange cream with 4oz of milk and 4oz of OJ. If I feel like a need something sweet I add in sugar free jello. I also add frozen cut up bananas and cinnamon (one of my favs) to the basic vanilla. I add berries, sometimes chia as well. This really helps me stay on track, especially in the am when I don't really like to eat much.

I put in whatever I feel like putting in. LOL But my main things are spinach, banana, Flaxseed, and usually one of my 8 oz juiced drinks that are usually made of carrot, apple, beet and/or cucumber. I also add things like broccoli, brussel sprouts, peppers, or whatever else I have on hand that I know is good for me. I'm not fussy about textures and such, so sometimes it can be almost like a heavy drink and other times like a heavy milkshake. I just know when I look at my tracker after I put it in, it's ALL good.

@RURU

Easy things I toss in with protein shakes;

Banana
Strawberries
Organic Peanut Butter
Unflavored Greek Yogurt

I also use soy milk instead of dairy.

I have a Ensure protein shake, I blend a Chobani yogurt & fresh fruit with a little ice to thicken it up.

For the most part I have a protein shake for breakfast each and everyday! I love them. 8-12 oz milk and scoop of protein powder and your good to go. I like to add some instant coffee and some sf sweetener to it sometimes.
I try not to have protein shakes where I add "food" to often because I don't really like drinking my calories. I have friends who add peanut butter, bananas, and oatmeal to their protein shakes however and they love it.

I'm interested to learn what kinds of foods people put into their protein shake. Please share.

I do protein shakes almost every morning for breakfast. I make them in a blender and add all kinds of healthy things to it.

Hi

I think you might want to aim for a Meal Replacement Shake based on your goals.

I like having Liquid lunches myself. But I tend to put in lots of good foods along with the protein powder. So it is truly packed with good foods. I totally don't see any problems with them as long as you are also making sure that ALL your foods for the day are balancing out. Like today, I not only ended up with plenty of room for more calories, but since I was good on protein and had room for fats and carbs, I had 2 servings of BBQ potato chips. I still have room for some other stuff, but it will probably be in the line of Yogurt.

Yup, it's a pkg one. 2g sugar per serving ans 30g protein. Should stay full till lunch :)

I've honestly been doing this for a few months. It's helped me a lot, considering that before I'd wake up and simply not eat til I made dinner for my parents. The only problem with that, was that I'd continue to eat right up til bedtime, lol.

The only advice I could really give is to make sure you're not drinking one that's mostly sugar, and if its a prepackaged one, make sure you're getting 1 serving. The first ones I tried, came in a bottle that was 2 servings... took me a week before my brother pointed that out! Changed to one that I mix myself, so I know exactly how much I'm getting every morning.

I was wondering if it was ok to substitute a protein shake for breakfast? I dont normally like breakfast.....The one I currently use for after my workouts is "Six Star Pro Nutrition Elite Series Whey Protein Plus Dietary Supplement."

Thanks,
