Combo...diabetics need a balance, as frut alone can raise blood sugars too high and they will often come down to fast

I love making fruit smoothies, and sometimes green ones too (spinach mostly). I love to make one with spinach, green grapes, and coconut milk. Sweet enough without added sugar.

Often I'll use yogurt or soy milk to add protein, but I haven't been a buyer of protein powder. What protein powders do any of you recommend?

I also like adding protein powder to my fruit smoothies. I usually either do mixed fruit or just strawberries with vanilla protein powder, or chocolate protein powder with banana and peanut butter.

I'm not much for the protein drinks i think they taste nasty. but you can make your fruit smoothie INTO a protein drink by adding nonfat yogurt, skim milk, etc. tastes much better, and you get the goodness of the fruit, too!!

The best things to add to smoothies:
tofu (protein that takes on taste of other ingredients)
flax oil -- Omega 3
then make whatever flavor you want
fruit
cocoa banana
etc
