I love the zone bars if I know I am working out intensely for over 60m, otherwise, yogurt or fruit

I agree with most of the suggestions on here. I have a piece of fruit before I work out (carbs for energy) and a protein shake with a cup of berries and a scoop or protein powder to fuel my muscles after. Fat slows digestion and if you're like me and eating about 30min before you workout you want to get the fuel in fast! If you're STARVING after or during your workout your body need more carbs.

I also dont eat before working out in the morning. But I get up at 5am so I cant really eat anything that early anyway, my body doesn't really want food.

When I get back though I have an apex drink or a hard boiled egg and whole wheat toast though.

Thanks for all the suggestions. I had actually had a hard-boiled egg and a slice of multi-grain toast w/ fake butter and strawberry jam before I worked out. I did 10 minutes on the stair machine, 20 minutes on the recumbent bike and then had half hr of strength training. I had been walking for 38-48 minutes before so maybe it's all the switch up, adding the strength training and exercising in the morning when I usually exercise at night that had me feeling light-headed.

Personally, I've found that working out in the morning before you've had breakfast actually allows you to workout longer and harder. I love working out in the morning. I can't workout at night because I feel bloated and I feel my stomach is carrying everything I ate that day. I also feel I eat way more cautious and healthy having worked out in the morning.

I have multi grain Cheerios with non fat milk with half a medium banana. It fills me up, but not to the point of not wanting to do my workout.

I eat a piece of whole wheat toast with some peanut butter for breakfast before a work out. If it's going to be a really long cardio work out then I add a banana to my breakfast.

I try to walk every morning, and I eat a packet of instant oatmeal prepared with 1/2 c. fat-free milk. It works good for me. I feel like I've actually eaten something, but I'm not so full I don't want to walk!

Some of it depends on how long you will exercise and what type of exercise you will be doing, but I like something light like a banana or a slice of toast and jam, if I am going to be doing a short cardio workout.

I cannot work out in the morning unless I eat breakfast (seeing black spots in front of my eyes clued me in). What's a good pre-workout breakfast?
