"A Prayer For Seeing The Big Picture"
Father, there is much that we can learn from our temporal problems here on earth that better prepares us for eternity. As we work through these troubles, they enable us to have the mind of Christ so that attitudes reflecting the fruit of the Spirit become a spontaneous response to the difficulties that challenge us daily. Just as light, soil, air and moisture are requirements for growth in vegetation so must faith, prayer, self-denial and persistence in obeying God's Holy Word be requirements for growth in our Christian walk. Help us not to become so caught up in viewing our daily challenges from an earthly perspective that we lose the view of our future home in heaven following the storms we weather here below. We stand in the strength of the Lord Jesus and in the power of His might. Amen.
When I first heard, I was shocked and a bit frightened. Then a few seconds later, I got really MAD - just give me a few minutes alone with the cowards who did this. And several hours later, I have come to the point where I am still angry but am resigned to having to live in an imperfect world where any of us could be at risk. However, I will not go quietly or without a fight. I want to see maximum penalties for all terrorists, foreign or home grown. I want to live in a country where NO ONE gets away with murdering innocent people.
My prayers are with the families who lost loved ones and those who have had family members injured. I am also praying for the first responders who had to sort order out of chaos, while not knowing whether there was risk to their own lives. In addition, I expect a full appology from all the news media that jumped the gun and reported incorrect information. Countless people were devastated by these "fake factoids" and the media purveyors should be held fully accountable. Just shut up if you don't know the facts. (Can you tell that I am still angry???)

I am so sad for Boston and all the people impacted.... It is so incredibly pointless and stupid to purposefully target innocents.
My daughter lives four blocks from the finish line and her subway stop is right near there. She is fine but shaken. She said she has never seen so many policemen and military in her life. Such a senseless tragedy.

I am saddened, worried, and anxious for our country. I have sent prayers up for victims and their families of this tragedy that defies any understanding.
