I've tried that before but it doesn't work for me. I end up changing my eating plan for the day that I have it done in advance for some reason. I don't know if it's psychological in my case, but I can't do that :( I know it works great for others though.

Yes, I track for the day ahead of time; filling in the main things. Then I check the nutritional report at some time later in the day to see where I need to fill in nutrients in my snacks, etc. Well, this all happens on GOOD days. lol

I tend to post my meals in the morning but I am going to try doing it a day ahead of time. It usually helps keep me on track.

I hate to admit this but I cannot think ahead to do my meals. I am working on it and I always change something. Thank you for your input. Carole, Dancingflower46
Every morning I enter my breakfast, lunch, and any snacks through dinner. Like a PP says, they're already packed for work, so I know they likely won't change much.
I like that my food for the day is sort of "locked in," making it easier for me to say no when people invite me to order out or forgo the cookies that are leftover from a meeting (that are sitting on the counter right now as we speak, calling me to come and sample just one...).
Also, then I know how many calories are available for dinner and can plan accordingly.
I usually track my breakfast and lunch at same time after eating them and then in the afternoon I decide what I will have for dinner and snack and track that before eating to make sure it fits my nutrition and calories intake for the rest of the day. Sometimes I am just too full when it is time to eat and I end up having to remove some items or on other days I am hungrier and end up adding to my snack entry. I chose to do this on purpose to learn what my tendencies are, how many calories I am eating and what has the best result as far as keeping my energy level high. At first I was often low on protein and fat, but now that I am aware of that, I already schedule food high in these early because I am too full in the evening to eat protein.

On weekdays, I tend to put in breakfast, lunch and snack all at once because I've already packed it. I don't always add dinner until later though.
Yes, I do, I do it daily. My husband always thinks it is hilarious when I check with him about dinner at 10:30 in the morning, but I want it tracked, because then I know that I won't deviate from it. I might a very little bit, but it is rare.

I haven't done this before but think that I will try. It will speed up the cooking process since I'll have the recipes figured out ahead of time. I may still leave the snacks open, though, so that I enjoy that spontaneous feeling of "What am I in the mood for"? Of course, it will be healthy!
I try to do it every morning, for that particular day. I don't like to get ahead of myself, because I don't always know what my snacks and other meals are going to be. I feel like I have more of a handle on it that way.
I don't ALWAYS do it, but I often do it when I make plans. That way, I can even check to make sure I'm getting the right balance of nutrients, and make adjustments beforehand

Definitely. I used to plan out all my meals the night before but now I plan out a *few days* in advanced. I usually have the next 3 days planned out. It helps to ensure I've met all my nutrient recommendations, prep meals in advanced so I can just prepare/heat them up in a few minutes, helps foods from going off in my fridge.
Of course, life happens and I will add to, delete, exchange meals/items but for the most part I stick to my plan and follow it like a recipe.

I'm just wondering if anyone else fills in their day's food in advance. I've been doing that for that last few days and I find it REALLY helps. It gives me some kind of psychological boost to know what food I have coming and when. I can always edit it later if my choices change. I think it's going to help a lot with impulse eating.
