Thank you for the information. I'm glad to know SparkPeople didn't choose it... though perhaps there could be some basic guideline for the agency to follow. I saved the link so if I see it again I'll report it.

Our ads are actually run through an agency and we don't actually choose what shows up. Also, not everyone sees the same ads. If/when you see an ad on the site that is inappropriate, you can report it. This page has info on how to do that: www.sparkpeople.com/community/help_answer.

.

Thanks!

I am really surprised and disappointed that Sparkpeople is choosing to run political smear ads. One of the best things about this website is its promotion of positivity in general and the fact that general negativity and bashing of others is not tolerated. I have been so pleased with almost everything about Sparkpeople... it is simply a wonderful, informative, and "nourishing" place.

Why then would Spakpeople choose to accept money from those who would smear others? It has never been a "political" website and it is not where I wish to come to get information about congressional candidates and races, etc.

Sparkpeople administrators: I really hope that you will rethink the acceptance of such ads now and in the future. This simply isn't the place for politics.
